"It is impossible to ignore the existence of double standards"

In the conditions of a pandemic, starting the school year and leading the process is a new challenge for the entire education system, which is not an easy process, and the large army of teachers in Georgia, school administrations are now in a special position of readiness.

 UG School,  Head of Administration - Tinatin Topuria;

 "As you know, UG School started the educational process on August 31, 2020 on the basis of the order of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia. The school prepared the school space for the beginning of the school year, in full compliance with the recommendations for general education institutions related to the new coronavirus infection, successfully passed the inspection of the Ministry of Refugees, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

Although our school closed the last semester quite successfully online, we think that distance learning is not justified at this stage, especially in the elementary grades, especially since the school in a pandemic has all the resources to continue the learning process in full compliance with safety standards In classrooms.

During this time we listen from the Ministry about the hybrid teaching model, which assumes a combined version of attendance and online lessons. However we eventually got a fully distance learning. We think in such a case the academic success of the students in general is endangered.

It is also impossible to ignore the existence of double standards, we follow all the regulations carefully, nevertheless, unfortunately we still found ourselves in the same pot with the public schools, while the public schools did not have the elementary readiness.

Several private schools have expressed a desire to address the Ministry of Education with a request to allow exceptions for grades 1-2. However, we are also working on alternative ways of how we can alleviate the difficulties caused by online mode for first-graders. „
