The Department conducts its activities in accordance with the National Goals of General Education, the National Curriculum, the Charter of the UG School Ltd, the school bylaws and the school regulations. The Department of Social Sciences unites teachers of History, Geography, Civic Education, "Our Georgia" and "Me and Society".
The main goal and task of the Department is:
• Selection of basic (certified textbooks), finding additional teaching resources and using them effectively;
• Selection of basic or additional educational resources for the teaching process, teacher professional development and the school library;
• Department members meet once a month. Experiences are shared. Both identifying reasons for success and finding ways to solve problems;
• Develop recommendations for the introduction of modern teaching / learning methodologies and approaches;
• Monitoring and evaluation of teachers' activities;
• Analyze the results of summative assignments, student academic achievement and absenteeism.
The work of the Department of Social Sciences is aimed at creating a healthy working environment in the classrooms, where the rights and personal space of both students and teachers with different needs will be equally considered and protected.
The aims of teaching Social Sciences are:
• Give the student knowledge of History, Geography, Law, Economics, Politics and other Social Sciences.
• To help him to perceive the world as a whole and to determine the place of Georgia in the current processes.
• To encourage the student's development as a patriot and a responsible citizen.
• To promote his / her free personality and full membership in the society.
• Assist the student in developing a humanistic worldview.
• Develop their strong will, develop the ability to act flawlessly and safely in emergencies, so that they can help each other, save their own lives and the lives of others around them in a variety of emergencies.
