Numerous competitions are held for UG school students. There are both state and private Olympiads where our students are constantly participating. Medals, certificates, prizes, cognitive-leisure tour trips and, most importantly, recognition at school - these are the benefits that the winners of the Olympics enjoy.
Candidates for school team membership will be selected through a competition organized under the School Competition Sub-Program. Each team members, along with reservists, are coached by team coaches (leader, co-leader, assistant) and support teachers for international competitions. The duration of the exercises varies from 6 months to one year.
For example, the American Young Physicists Tournament (USIYPT) is an annual international competition also known as the World Physics Cup. The tournament is designed for seniors and is based on the presentation of scientific research and research objects in the field of Physics. UG School students competed in the tournament for the first time in February 2019.
In order to increase the motivation of the students, UG School implements a program, within the framework of which cognitive tours are held for the excellent students. Students have the opportunity to view historical sites as well as participate in a variety of educational programs.
The school hosts the UG Science Festival every year;
The event is designed for school-age teens, though it is also interesting for people of any age. The main task of the festival is to present the achievements of modern Science in a fun way, especially in the Natural Sciences. The beneficiaries of the project may be Georgian middle school students.
The UG Science Festival events will bring together motivated students who want to acquire new knowledge in their future / related profession that goes beyond standard lesson plans. It is especially important to involve schools in the regions of Georgia in such projects and to motivate them to participate in scientific / cognitive / educational activities.
